Triton Group Announces Sales & Marketing Agreement with Progress Rail for Next-Generation Composite Railroad Ties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ST. LOUIS, MO – April 6, 2026 — Triton Group, a leader in circular-economy infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has entered into a sales and marketing agreement with Progress Rail, a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., and one of the largest providers of rolling stock and infrastructure solutions and technologies for global rail customers.
Under this agreement, Progress Rail will serve as the exclusive seller and marketer of Triton’s composite railroad tie technology, expanding access to an engineered, high-performance alternative to traditional hardwood and other composite options.
For the last several years Progress Rail has evaluated composite tie technologies worldwide. Their engineering and commercial teams conducted extensive field testing, performance comparisons, and supply-chain assessments to identify a solution capable of meeting their standards and the demanding requirements of the rail-industry.
“Progress Rail has been searching for a composite tie that meets the performance and reliability expectations of the global rail industry,” said Greg Janson, CEO of Triton Group. “We are honored that they have chosen to represent the Triton Tie. Our collaboration marks a major milestone—not just for Triton, but for rail customers seeking durable, longer lasting and environmentally responsible tie solutions that can scale.”
Triton’s proprietary manufacturing method—designed to preserve glass-fiber integrity throughout the process—proved to deliver the consistency, durability, and long-term performance railroads require. This platform, combined with Triton’s vertically integrated recycling and feedstock-engineering capabilities, was a key factor in Progress Rail’s decision.
The agreement aligns Triton’s materials expertise with Progress Rail’s commercial reach and technical leadership, providing railroads with a validated, engineering-driven composite tie supported by a world-class OEM partner.
Over the coming months, Triton and Progress Rail will work together to engage customers and prepare for expanded deployment across freight, transit, and industrial applications.
